Ask what the team will actually do

Request a clear scope across shop operations, creators, content and advertising. Find out who performs the work and how responsibilities are divided with your internal team. Broad promises about growth are less useful than an explanation of the operating process.

Understand the starting assessment

Ask how the agency evaluates your products, margins, inventory and current performance. A credible plan should respond to your situation rather than apply the same activity targets to every brand. Find out what information the team needs and why it matters.

Review evidence with context

When looking at examples, ask about the time period, scope of responsibility and how results were measured. A brand’s total revenue is not automatically revenue attributable to the agency. Useful evidence explains the work and the limits of the claim.

Clarify costs and communication

Separate management fees from advertising, samples, shipping, creator payments and software. Agree how often you will receive updates and where questions will be handled. Clear expectations make it easier to identify whether the engagement is delivering the promised work.

Agree how progress will be assessed

Define a small set of meaningful measures and review points. Ask what the agency will do if activity or results are weaker than expected. The best answer is a practical process for investigating and improving, not an unconditional guarantee about sales or return.

This guide provides a planning framework, not a promise of campaign performance.
