Start with the reason for the review

Decide whether you are trying to address weak delivery, deteriorating returns or an opportunity to expand. These are different problems. A larger budget may not solve a product conversion issue, and a lower budget may not explain why delivery was limited in the first place.

Read spend alongside product conditions

Review the amount spent against the available budget, then check inventory and the offer. A product with inconsistent availability is difficult to evaluate fairly. Record relevant price changes and promotional periods so the team can distinguish campaign behavior from changes in the product environment.

Check the content supply

Review whether the campaign has suitable authorized content and whether recent creator activity is adding new options. Consider demonstration quality, clarity and audience relevance. Budget decisions are more useful when the team understands what creative material the system has available to work with.

Make controlled changes

Avoid changing several important inputs at once without documenting why. Record the previous setting, the new setting and the review window. This creates a better basis for learning than making repeated reactive adjustments and later trying to reconstruct which decision caused what.

Use a commercial stopping point

Set review criteria around the margin and risk your business can support. There is no universally safe spend level or guaranteed return. Revisit decisions as new data arrives, keeping the product, content and operational teams informed of the implications.
